Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear.

-Thomas Jefferson
Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence."

Richard Dawkins

"Leon Lederman, the physicist and Nobel laureate, once half-jokingly remarked that the real goal of physics was to come up with an equation that could explain the universe but still be small enough to fit on a T-shirt. In that spirit, Dawkins offered up his own T-shirt slogan for the ongoing evolution revolution:
Life results from the non-random survival of randomly varying replicators."

"Religion is excellent stuff for keeping common people quiet."

Napoleon Bonaparte

The 3 Laws of Prediction by Arthur C. Clark
  1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
  2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
  3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

First Leg: Singapore-KL-Chennai

Ok here we go.... First leg was from Singapore to KL...a nightmare of a journey...couldn't sleep at all, thanks to the rotten seat I was assigned...But the station was beautiful, a classis art-deco building built in the 30's...This building is actually not the property of Singapore, but rather the property of Malaysia...

First Post in a Long time...

Well...its sure been a long time since I posted anything here...and so many things have happened!!! I finally got my dream job, in Sweden!! It was hell for the past semester, with so many roadblocks, getting an internship, borrowing cash from friends to help apply for my visa, but its all worth it!! Thanks to my friends, and with a lotta help from everyone, I'll finally make it to Europe...

And so, in celebration of that; I will convert this blog into a photo blog covering my travels for the next year, which I dubbed the Grand Year of Travel; that one year in a person's life where he gets the call to explore the world, when he finally comes into his own, and realizes his existence, a time when he starts reaching out and feeling, exploring, and reveling in that beautiful place we call Earth, in all of its people's cultures, ways of life, to see the wonders of nature and mankind, and most of all, to take the journey of life. This is my year of travel.
